European Voluntary Service

Taking initiative for an inclusive society
With this EVS project, LGL aims to develop new means to approach the local LGBT youth community, combining our knowledge and experience with the volunteers’ fresh ideas and creative initiatives in order to develop new tools for overcoming homophobia and social exclusion both in Lithuania and Europe.
This project allows LGL to strenghten and develop international cooperation and encourages an active participation of young LGBT persons in the organization's activities.
EVS volunteers have the chance to contact with international partners and participate in local and international projects. This will raise the volunteers' awareness to activism on the European level and to the LGBT issues in Lithuania, in particular.
Our current volunteers are Ceren, from Turkey, and Joana, from Portugal. They are  involved in administrative tasks and responsible for assistance on LGL’s international projects. They are also taking part in the preparations for Baltic Pride 2013, which will take place in Vilnius. Apart from that, both volunteers have time and space to develop their own projects in the frame of the EVS programme.
